1 month to go!

Heyyyy everyone :) hope everyone is well! I'm sad but! I had a burst of happiness this morning! 3 weeks ago my mom sent me a package with shoes, clothes, clif bars and other goodies. I kept going to the post office to see if it arrived, but every time it hadn't. I thought it might have been stolen. Well yesterday I went and it was there!! But I had to wait till this morning to get it. But it's here! Yay! I was so happy:)
So what news? There is a couple from Miami that will living here for a year or two. I really like them :) this morning the brother that drove us to the post office is from Canada. I got the chance to ask him questions about his journey to Burundi. Well, him and his wife are in their 50s. They served as special pioneers in Canada. Then they got invited to serve at missionary status in west Africa. He said his wife had to really think about it. But they decided to. They lived in a house with 12 other missionaries. Needless to say it was never boring! They thought after a year they were ready to go home, but they decided to stick it out and stay maybe 3 yrs. Then 5 yrs came... Then 12 yrs! But then they were asked to serve at bethel here in Burundi. They have been here for 3 yrs. he said they never regretted having stored all their treasures in heaven... Because they have none on earth lol. I told him they are a wonderful example for people like me. The self-sacrificing spirit they display is wonderful. He was so humble too. He said nooooo! We have done nothing! We are not special! But of course I disagreed :) he is such a sweet brother! Very ADHD... Lol.

The preaching here really is wonderful. The brothers and sisters here are sooo stinkin zealous! I'm learning a lot from them. It's crazy to see people walk up to them and ask... Ask! For some literature! And it happens more than once in a day. Sometimes if they are preaching on the street they will have a crowd of people around them listening and wanting their own magazines to read. America is so different...

My 2 studies are still good. Still very regular :) I will miss teaching someone when I come home... But maybe Jehovah is just training me for that one deaf study I might have when I get home ;) hehe

Some sad news, due to Jen's family situation Stacey has decided to postpone her arrival. Hopefully she will come soon:) it just means she's a very loyal bestie :)

Well I miss everyone and can't wait to see you all in a month. Oh! Also my flight home was cancelled... So I will probably be arriving home 2 days earlier. But I will definitely miss the brothers and sisters here very much! Especially brother and sister Leonard and nancy Ellis. They have truly taken me under their wings. They have been absolutely wonderful. Can't thank Jehovah enough for those 2.

Well I think I talked enough :) love you all!

  2. Hi sweetie! We miss you! Olivia keeps saying how much she misses you! With only a month left, you still have work to do where you are. We will survive back here. I agree with Ray, please bring that zeal back home with you. We will be waiting to hear even more when you are with us. Please tell your Bible students that the Rivera/Thomas families sends their love and greetings! Tell them to continue to learn about Jehovah; for HE is the one and only TRUE GOD! We have some exciting news to share with you...the month of July we are planning to spend in the New England states, assisting various ASL groups. We are very excited! Ed has one talk scheduled so far. That one is in Vermont. He is in the process of scheduling one in Maine. We have never been that far North. They are in need of Brothers to take the lead in the worst way. The Goughnours have found us a place to stay/main base. We will have more to tell you when you arrive home. I love you sweetie pie! Stay out of the mud! Keep your chin up! And don't let anyone steal any more of your shoes! hee hee Love and Hugs from our family to YOU!!! xo
